Freeze Dried Blueberry Muffin Bites

This is a special freeze dried treat. We had a bunch of muffins and decided to see if something good could come from an excess. And I think it worked wonderfully! Normally they say don't freeze dry bread products because you just can't bring them back, but these are perfect just the way they are. Each heat sealed and partially vacuumed mylar bag with oxygen absorber has just over 2.5 oz of crunchy blueberry muffin goodness.

The freeze dried food we offer is in an aluminum-coated mylar bag. I know it's fashionable to have them in clear mylar. We have an article about why we don't do that here. I wince when I see people offering freeze dried bagged food with holes for hanging it on pegs that are punched below the heat seal. Boggles the mind, really.

Please note that we do not claim that our food will save for up to 25 years. It will be good for years but how many depend on you and the ingredients. Fruit, oils, sugar are all things that don't preserve as well and so this will last several years but not as long as, say, a pouch of similarly prepared rice.
